WEIGHT LOSS SURGERY

Insurance and Financing

The decision to have weight loss surgery is an important one, and a major financial investment.

Did you know that some health insurance companies cover bariatric surgery? That’s because weight loss surgery can lead to long-term weight loss and reduce your risk for heart disease, diabetes and other life-threatening health problems.

Woman’s is accredited as a MBSAQIP Comprehensive Center in Bariatrics. We are a recognized Blue Distinction® Center+.

Laparoscopic Weight Loss Surgery

Fees for laparoscopic weight loss surgery vary based on surgeon fees and/or additional testing required. On average, self-pay or cash pay fees for laparoscopic weight loss surgery are:

  • Vertical sleeve gastrectomy: $14,500
  • Roux-en-Y (gastric bypass): $21,000

(Fees are subject to change without notification)

Health Insurance Coverage

Because every insurance policy is unique, it's important that you thoroughly understand your Certificate of Coverage. With minimal personal information, Woman’s staff can review your insurance plan for coverage and financial responsibility.

Financing Options

You may feel surgery is worth the investment in your health and decide to use an alternative financing option such as a home equity loan or medical loan. Patient financing is a popular payment option that helps individuals afford weight loss surgery while making manageable monthly payments.

Woman's is pleased to announce financing options through Bayou Federal Credit Union, Campus Federal Credit Union and NOLA Lending. Please contact the lending financial institution directly to determine if you qualify.
