How to pre-register using OB Express
Complete your hospital registration within 45 days of your due date. This process of early registration is called OB Express. By completing your registration in advance you won't have to complete it while in labor.
Follow these steps to complete your OB Express registration:
- Log into Woman's MyChart
- Got to menu bar, click on "Register for my Delivery"
During registration, you will:
- Review and update contact information
- Add insurance coverage and ID cards
- Complete pre-registration questionnaires
Upon completion of OB Express registration, a health benefit verifier may contact you for additional information.
To complete OB Express registration in-person, visit the Admitting department at Woman's Hospital located on the 1st floor.
If you do not have a Woman's MyChart account:
- Visit mychart.womans.org to sign up
- If you already have the MyChart mobile app, open the app and add Woman's as the organization, select sign up
Helfpul Information
During your OB Express visit, you will be asked to pay any co-payment or deductible required by your insurance carrier prior to admission. Payment may be made by cash, check or credit card.
If you are unable to pay this portion at the time of service, you will need to contact our financial counselor at 225-215-7466.
If you do not complete your OB Express registration before your labor starts, you will need to sign admission forms when you arrive at the hospital. Please contact our patient access coordinator Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM-5:30 PM at 225-924-8120.
If you choose to pre-register by phone, you will need to sign admission forms and pay any co-pay or deductible that is due when you arrive at the hospital in labor.
- Before you leave home, call your doctor and then Woman’s Admitting at 225-924-8117. Let them know if you have registered for OB EXPRESS.
- First go to Woman’s Assessment Center, where staff will determine if you are to be admitted into the hospital.
If you have not completed your paperwork, you will need to sign forms and pay any co-pay or deductible that is due when you arrive at the hospital in labor.
Scheduled induction and scheduled c-section patients may report to Admitting through the main Hospital entrance, with nearby parking in lots B and C. You will then be admitted to Labor and Delivery.
If you are scheduled to be induced, please call Labor and Delivery at 225-924-8176 before leaving home.
