Woman's Hospital: 400K Baby Arrives
BATON ROUGE, La - Today, Woman’s Hospital celebrated the arrival of its 400,000th baby. Woman’s President and CEO Rene Ragas was joined by members of the Woman’s Hospital Foundation Board of Directors, the labor and delivery team, physicians, nurses, and others during a news conference to announce that Baby Blair arrived Saturday, March 15, weighing 5lbs./14 oz. and measuring 19.5 inches long. Her delivery, the highlight of the Labor of Love campaign, marks a historic achievement in the hospital's more than 56 years of serving families across Louisiana.
“We’re elated for the family and their new baby,” said Ragas. “It’s been Woman’s privilege to care for hundreds of thousands of families during one of the happiest and most vulnerable times of their lives. Our Labor of Love campaign is a celebration of that relationship. We’re grateful for the community’s trust, and we look forward to providing exceptional care for generations of families to come. Congratulations to all as we mark this special delivery.”
Thanks to generous donations by the Foundation for Woman’s and community members, the family of the 400,000th baby received a special gift basket and newborn essentials valuing more than $2,000.
The Labor and Delivery team included Dr. Rebecca Boudreaux and a group of highly trained nurses and support staff.
