Woman’s Hospital Awarded Birth Ready+ Designation from LDH for Fourth Consecutive Year
Woman’s Hospital has earned the Louisiana Birth Ready+ Designation from the Louisiana Perinatal Quality Collaborative (LaPQC) for the fourth consecutive year. This designation recognizes birthing facilities that are committed to implementing policies that are responsive to the individual needs of patients and their families and ensures they are treated with dignity.
“Receiving this designation as we prepare to celebrate the delivery of our 400,000th baby is further confirmation of our commitment to provide equitable and high-quality care to all of our patients in an environment where they feel safe and respected,” said Cheri Johnson, Woman’s chief nursing officer.
“We strive to put our mission of improving the health of women and infants into practice every day and are grateful for this recognition,” said Amye Reeves, Woman’s director of Obstetrical Services.
Through its work with LaPQC, Woman’s has adopted evidence-based practices and standards in the areas of ongoing hemorrhage risk assessments, the timely treatment of hypertension, health equity training and more. This is a statewide collaborative effort to collectively improve maternal, perinatal and infant outcomes. It is a partnership between LaPQC, the Louisiana Department of Health, Office of Public Health, Bureau of Family Health, and the Louisiana Commission on Perinatal Care and the Prevention of Infant Mortality.
