Woman’s Hospital Strengthens Cancer Services with Addition of New Breast and Gynecologic Cancer Surgeons

BATON ROUGE, La. - Woman’s Hospital is excited to announce it is strengthening its cancer prevention, detection and treatment services for patients with the addition of two new surgeons, Dr. Lindsey Fauveau and Dr. Gabrielle Hawkins. Dr. Fauveau joins Woman’s Breast Specialists Clinic while Dr. Hawkins joins the Woman’s GYN Oncology Clinic, both located on the hospital’s main campus in Baton Rouge.

“Providing women with superior cancer care is more than our job, it’s our mission,” says Woman’s President and CEO Rene Ragas. “Our patients will benefit greatly from the incredible knowledge, talent and compassion that both Dr. Fauveau and Dr. Hawkins bring to the Woman’s cancer services team.”

Dr. Fauveau is a board-certified and fellowship-trained breast surgical oncologist with more than a decade of experience. She specializes in breast cancer surgeries and advanced surgical techniques like oncoplastic and hidden scar breast surgeries.  A native of Gonzales, La., Dr. Fauveau graduated from Louisiana State University and earned her medical degree with high honors from Ross University School of Medicine. She completed her general surgery residency at LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans and a fellowship in breast surgical oncology at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas. Dr. Fauveau is board-certified by the American Board of Surgery and a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and Society of Surgical Oncology.
Dr. Hawkins is a board-certified and fellowship-trained Gynecologic Oncologist with over ten years of experience. She specializes in the prevention, detection and treatment of gynecologic cancers including cervical, ovarian, uterine, vaginal and vulvar.

A native of Houston, TX, Dr. Hawkins graduated from the University of Virginia and earned her medical degree with high honors. She also earned a master of science degree in biological science from Drexel University College of Medicine/Hahnemann University. She completed both her Obstetrics and Gynecology residency and her fellowship in Gynecologic Oncology at the University of North Carolina Hospitals in Chapel Hill, NC. Dr. Hawkins is board-certified by the ABOG Board in Gynecologic Oncology and Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.
