Dr. Hausmann is a native of New Orleans, Louisiana, and has practiced general surgery in Baton Rouge since 1992.

He graduated from Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire, and later attended Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans, Louisiana, where he received his Doctorate of Medicine. He then completed his general surgery residency at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi.

Dr. Hausmann has been a fellow in the American College of Surgeons since 1995.

He also is a member of a number of surgical societies including the American Society of General Surgeons, the American Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons, the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons, and the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery.

Dr. Hausmann performs a variety of minimally invasive weight loss surgical procedures, including laparoscopic vertical sleeve gastrectomy, laparoscopic Rou-en-Y gastric bypass, laparoscopic adjustable gastric banding, and revisionary bariatric surgery.

He also performs incision-less stomach reduction surgery. Dr. Hausmann has earned the Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence designation awarded by the Surgical Review Corporation on behalf of the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery.

Dr. Hausmann performs a wide variety of advanced minimally invasive surgical procedures as well as Physician Assisted Robotic Surgery.
