Summary
Dr. Jasmeet S. Mokha is a Pediatric Gastroenterologist specializing in Pediatric Intestinal Rehabilitation - a multidisciplinary approach that provides comprehensive care to babies with Intestinal Failure and Short Gut Syndrome (SBS). Newborns may develop Intestinal Failure or Short gut Syndrome due to conditions such as necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC), gastroschisis, intestinal atresia, congenital diarrhea syndromes and many more relatively rare conditions, necessitating the use of IV nutrition (TPN) to maintain age-appropriate growth and nutrition. After training under leaders in the field, and with more than 10 years of clinical and research experience in Intestinal Rehabilitation, Dr. Mokha moved back to Louisiana in 2022 with the aim to deliver the highest standards of care to babies locally. His goal is to provide pediatric and family-oriented care to achieve the best possible outcome for each child with Intestinal Failure and Short Gut Syndrome.
