Pilates

Pilates focuses on quality rather than quantity, allowing the body to react differently to stress and begin to heal as needed. Participants experience the mind-body connection by focusing on proper breathing, correct spinal and pelvic alignment, and mental concentration.

This work can be done through variations on the floor (mat classes) and on the Reformer, a specialized piece of equipment designed specifically for Pilates. Our clients have experienced a decrease in pain, enhanced well-being, toned bodies and a stronger mid-section.

Yoga

Yogic exercise places emphasis on calming the nerves, cleansing the circulatory system, and improving digestion. By practicing yoga, our clients find themselves feeling more grounded and relaxed. Other benefits include increased flexibility, improved posture and bone health, decreased blood pressure, and reduced stress levels.

Our classes cover a range of yogic methods, from beginner to advanced levels, and are held in a relaxing atmosphere with a view of nature.

Contact us at 225-924-8300 to discuss our mind-body program, and set up a private tour. It's the next step along your path toward making your mind-body connection.

The Importance of Breath Control

Stephanie Levert
My allergist diagnosed me with exercise-induced asthma, so I decided to switch from running to yoga to help with my breath control. I discovered that by applying techniques I learned in yoga, I could reduce both stress and shallow breathing habits in my day-to-day life.

Manage Pain Effectively

Jodi Golden
Before I began Pilates classes, I could barely lift my head off the pillow in the morning. I couldn't hold my baby without pain, and I couldn't turn my head. As a mother of two young children, I needed a solution that would be long lasting.

After three Pilates mat classes, I began to wake up in the morning pain free! I feel stronger, I look better, but most importantly, I can turn my head normally, and my neck is almost completely healed!

Be Your Best Self

Betty Baechle
My posture has vastly improved. As a runner, my muscles tended to be bulky. Now they are becoming longer and leaner. At age 58, my goal is to be the best and healthiest 60 year-old that I can be. The Pilates Reformer is helping me achieve this goal!
