Woman’s Victory Open Golf Tournament

For more than a decade the signature fundraising event for Woman’s Hospital, the Woman’s Victory Open (WVO), has raised over $934,000 for the Hospital’s breast cancer outreach and educational programs, including the mobile mammography coach which provides screening mammograms for women who otherwise may not have access to care.

The 2009 event, Underwritten by All Star Automotive Group and Presented by Capital One Bank, Long Law Firm and Wright & Percy Insurance, netted more than $134,000.

Planned annually in October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the golf tournament includes golf-specific skills challenges, hole-in-one prize opportunities, a raffle drawing, a silent auction, and a luncheon/cocktail reception with awards ceremony.  The event also includes a pre-tournament party which celebrates and honors breast cancer survivors, tournament players and WVO sponsors.  This year’s Pink on the Plaza pre-tournament party included great food from 16 area restaurants, live and silent auctions, and live music.
